Welcome back to a new school year! I invite you to use our classroom website to help keep up-to-date with all that is happening in room 106 and at J.J. Hill Montessori. I will continue to add new sections throughout the year when we have more to share.
Homework Section - This area of the website is dedicated to the homework your child will be bringing home each week. Please use this page to see what your child is responsible each night. Homework is an important part of E2.
Newsletters - I believe communication between home and school is essential to a successful year. I will send home newsletters to let families know what we have been working on and what things will be coming up.
Last Year - There were some things from last year that I feel are worth leaving up for the students to explore again this year. Take a look at this section to learn a little about what happened in our room last year.

A Little Bit About Jen I have worked for St. Paul Public Schools for over 10 years in
technology. The longer I worked with the students, the more I realized
that I wanted to become a classroom teacher. I finally enrolled in the
weekend program at Augsburg College to work towards my teaching
certificate. It was while I was completing my Augsburg program and
working at J.J. Hill that I began to take a closer look at Montessori
education. The more I learned about Montessori education, the more I
realized it aligned with my philosophy of education and how I believe
children learn best. I am very excited to continue my educational
journey as I work on my Montessori certification.
When I am not at work, life is all about being
with my family. My husband is also a teacher and works at Vento
Elementary in St. Paul. I have two children, Emily who is in 7th grade
at the Math and Science Academy and Benjamin who is in EI here at J.J.
Hill. My family loves to spend time at the cabin and go to Disney
World as much as possible. Both my kids dance so I spend much of my
time during the week driving them to lessons and reading a lot of books
while I wait.
I am so happy to be a part of the staff at J.J. Hill Montessori and I am looking forward to another year as an EII classroom teacher!
