Some Basic Information

There are currently six classrooms: Half-Day for Pre-K and Full Day for Kindergarten All teachers are State Certified and hold at least a Primary Montessori Certificate. Maria Montessori also observed the importance of the sensitive periods. These are periods of intense interest for learning a particular skill. The Montessori classroom is described as having three equally important components: The child, the teacher and the prepared environment. The environment is arranged to allow the child freedom to select materials. The child selects activities which match his/her own period of interest.
